Development of kinetic based model
SAS developed a series of kinetic-based models for the design and build of fuel cells for Bloom Energy, a company that is designing and fabricating 'state of the art' fuel cells for industrial applications.
Bloom Energy's technology uses a catalyst to strip off hydrogen atoms form natural gas, for use in the fuel cell. In order to contril the porcess, knowledge of "light off" postiion was critical.
Working with SAS personnel, data from their process was used to develop a series of kinetic models of the process.
This model was the set-up in a Visual Basic program so that the client coulD rapidly dtermine "light-off" locations as a function of various input parameters.
